The Bunch Of Nobody's

David didn't know he had been anointed by God to become King when he was in the back yard tending to the sheep. His own father didn't even think of him as worthy to be anointed when Samuel arrived to the house.

Elisha didn't know he had been anointed to become a Prophet of God when he was outside plowing a field.

Abraham didn't know he had been chosen to be the father of many nations. But he couldn't even get Sara pregnant AND they were so old, so how was THAT supposed to happen.

Saul didn't know he had been chosen to minister God's Gospel, meanwhile, he was one of the main people persecuting the Christians!

Rahab didn't know she had been chosen to be in the lineage of Jesus Christ when she helped the Israeli spies do God's work! And when that happened she was nothing but a prostitute.

Judas didn't know that he would be a disciple of Jesus growing up. And when he was a disciple, he didn't know he would be the one to betray Him either! But if it weren't for Judas betraying Jesus, how else would we have had Calvary?

Abigail didn't know she would end up living the wonderful life as the wife of Kind David one day. I mean really, she was already married to a brut and idiot of a man named Nabal.

Matthew didn't know he was chosen to become a Disciple of Jesus when he was nothing but a tax collector.


What I'm trying to say is that all these people were a bunch of nobody's but they ended up being a part of a plan that they had no clue about!  They were a bunch of nobody's! A skinny little boy. The wife of a drunk tyrant. A hoochie. A useless old man. A two faced liar. Come on, we've been called at least one of those names or know someone that has been called one of those names at some point. Either way, they were all a bunch of "nobody's" with no place to go in life. They had accepted where they were in their lives and God stepped in SUDDENLY and changed Everything!


The unhappy wife finally felt a sense of purpose. The hoochie found her value. The sad couple became Parents. The little boy became a King. Granted he made mistakes along the way by having a womanizing spirit, but he ended up getting that right too! We all got something about us.


So if you feel less than in any way, celebrate. For God has a chance to use you for something important! If you feel less than in your marriage, you may have a success like Abigail had. If you feel less than in your parenting, you may have the success that the father of the Prodigal son. If you feel less than in your job, you may have the secret success of Rahab!!  You don't need to have a title in order to be a success. You don't need to have a stacked bank account in order to be a success. Just know that God chose you for Something Greater. And Guess What. Greater Is Still Coming.
