Snow White and the 7...... sins...

Hi Family!


If you know me, in my inner heart, you know that I'm a Disney fan. I had to take the day off work yesterday and I got caught up with the kids watching Disney movies. Starting, of course, with a new Disney movie because Lareina kept asking to watch it. It was Descendants 2. Now, let me be honest, I saw the first Descendants movie and I LOVED IT. LOL! So although I fought and fought not to watch this one for weeks, I still ended up watching it yesterday. I hadn't realized how much I would connect with the movie. Outside of the songs and the dancing and the good vs. evil plot of course. But the message was a really good message about being your own Authentic You. And how important it is to be your own authentic you ESPECIALLY for and around the people you love. Because it's exhausting and truly debilitating (mentally and physically) to try to live up to the expectations that someone else may have. You have to be ok to be you, no matter what you think is at risk.


Well, after that movie, I wanted more Disney, so we watched The Little Mermaid. Yes people. Don't judge. I still love The Little Mermaid and sing ALL the songs. 😂😂 All the Disney overload must have awoken something in my spirit because this morning all I could think of was Snow White. That is another of my loved classic Disney movies. Those dwarfs were hilarious! And immediately as I thought about the Dwarfs, I thought of sin.


You see, what God reminded me about those 7 Dwarfs is they are named after a characteristic of theirs. Doc, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Dopey, Bashful and Sneezy. I remembered there is also a list called "7 Deadly Sins". Here they are:

• Lust
• Gluttony
• Greed
• Laziness
• Wrath
• Envy
• Pride

I remember first learning about those sins from a movie. It was kind of crazy. The movie released in 1995 and it was called Seven. That was my first introduction to the things God really doesn't like. There was a serial killer out killing people based on the 7 deadly sins. So if he found a Gluttonous person, he killed them and left a "clue" about their sin. For a movie, it was good. For reality, man is that real. I had to link the 7 dwarfs with the reality of the 7 deadly sins. And guess what. Even I, someone who wants to be Snow White (as far as Psalms 51:7) am found in the list of the 7 deadly sins. Where are you?


Now, don't think that the only knowledge I can give you, for the bible study people, is just from a movie. Here is something for you to ponder directly from The Word. Of course, they are not the same as the 7 deadly sins mentioned above, BUT, they are ALL sins nonetheless.

Here are six things GOD hates, and one more that he loathes with a passion:
eyes that are arrogant, a tongue that lies, hands that murder the innocent, a heart that hatches evil plots, feet that race down a wicked track, a mouth that lies under oath, a troublemaker in the family.


Now, I'm not trying to make this post long. I have more that God wanted me to give you. But I'll post that in a day, or 2 or 3. I want to be sure I have all that He wants me to say and correctly. For now, think on those things. Do you find yourself in any of those sins?
