By Faith.........

What's up everyone,

I was just reflecting back to a show I was watching last night. Rickey Smiley For Real. It was the episode where Kelly Price was in it. They were talking about my favorite pastime.... music. More importantly, worship music and the fact that the old school it was based on nothing but Faith. The new contemporary music is awesome. But it's different than the old school hymns from back in the day.

They were talking about how back in the day people had nothing but Family and Faith. They weren't rich. They were poor, ok, or just barely making it. If something was going wrong in some area of their lives, they knew BY FAITH that God would fix it.

Nowadays, we don't live BY FAITH.

If we have financial issues, we put our faith in state assistance. If we need help hearing from God, we ask our Pastor to hear for us. If we need mental or physical help and need some Healing or Peace, we put all our faith into a doctor. If we need Wisdom, we put our faith into a friend or family members opinion/advice. If we need a job, we look for a reference in someone. If we don't have enough money for something, we look for a hookup. If we haven't found our soul mate yet, we put our faith in a dating service. If our child is acting up, we look for medicines to make them behave.

We do not live BY FAITH.  But how do you live by faith, while still not setting yourself up to fail you ask?  I don't have this right myself, but I'm sure I'm on a path and I can give you some insight.

  1. Faith Without Works is Dead.  James 2:26
I actually live my Faith through this scripture. Anything that I've needed help with, even if I'm alone on it. I always remember, Faith Without Works is Dead. If I want a new job, I know that I have to apply. And when I am going through the process of applying, I am praying the entire time. "God please close the doors of the jobs that are not for me. No matter how good they may look. Only keep open what you want for me. I know that you will increase me, and I want it to happen where you want it to happen.". Allow your will to become His will. Yes, God can have opportunities fall into your lap and you were not looking for them. But He also sees and knows your heart, and can/will honor your desires to move on. As long as your heart can match His. He will NOT reduce to you. But you can decrease yourself in order to be lifted to Him.

     2.   Childlike Faith.      Psalm 116:6

Sometimes things happen to you that leave you in a place where you have no where to turn. No one can help you. Sometimes life did it and you were completely blindsided. But sometimes you put your own self there by your own actions/words. If you, like me, have ever been in that place, please remember that place. Remember that feeling. That place is the place where you know exactly what Childlike Faith is. That is your reminder of what it feels like to have that kind of faith. Where you know there is not a single soul in the world that can help you. Not your siblings, your parents, your in-laws, your friends, your grandma, your lawyers, no courts, no judge, no one. At that point, where the only place you can look is Up, you have found your Childlike Faith. The one that cries out in pain. And also cries into God's arms. The one that calls out "God please just fix it, because I don't know what I'm going to do. I've never been here before. I don't know how I got here. How did things ever get so bad? Father I need your help and I know that you can help me. I'm your daughter (or son) and I KNOW that you would never leave me or forsake me. Please save me." In that place, you will find your Childlike Faith. You need to learn how to tap into that kind of faith EVERY day. So when something goes wrong, you can remember that time you were against the wall, with nothing but your Childlike Faith in God to help you. And know, that if He helped you through that, He can help you again. But it's your Childlike Faith that will get you there. The faith that won't let you let go. The Faith that won't let you get tired. The Faith that won't let you quit.

These 2 items alone bring me to a place of living By Faith. Yes, sometimes the way life looks distracts me. But that's when I have to refocus and say:

"Oh NO! My God did something amazing in my life before!!!!
I know it!!!! I was There!!!! It happened to ME!!!!!
So I'm NOT giving up FAITH that He will get me through this too!!!!!
I don't care WHAT things look like right now!!!"

Get there family. Get that childlike faith. And learn what do to in the natural that moves your faith while you Wait for God to do His part. Because Faith Without Works is Truly Dead. Don't worry about what it looks like. He is waiting for you to stop looking at your situation, and just look to Him. When you finally decide to only look at Him, He can move things around for you.

I Love You Family!!!! Be Blessed!!!!!!!!
