Am I REALLY grateful?

Today God has placed in my heart to ask Are We Really Grateful?

I remember my first lessons of learning gratefulness from my mom. You all probably remember some form of this statement too. "You better eat all your food! You know there are STARVING children in China that would be happy to eat it!" Soon after that statement, I learned sarcasm, "please! Then let them eat it then!" Of course I didn't say it out loud tho! I like to know I could keep all my teeth. Lol!

As funny as it is to remember those days now, it really is true. What's crazier is that you don't have to go as far as China. Some of us can look right next door, or across the street. Where some kids couldn't have a breakfast. Yet sometimes we complain that there is no milk to put in our cereal.

Today I woke up and I'm soooooo tired. Last week was busy, this weekend was busy, and Mondays are always hard. So coming to work is always a challenge. But I just remembered those parents that are hoping their unemployment that already doesn't compare to the amount they used to get in their last paycheck, doesn't run out before they are able to get another job. And I have been praying for a new job and you can twist it up to sound all extra Holy and say "if I can get promoted, someone else can be blessed to fill my position!" But no, that's a statement rooted in ungratefulness for my job. So I'm in the wrong. So when I do my own real self check, I know that when I look at how I feel about my job, and looking for another job, I have to work on my gratefulness first. I need to appreciate what I have and learn to be a true Salt and Light example where I currently am.

Today I challenge you to do a honest and very sobering self check in appreciation in your life. What are you constantly fussing about, or like me, unhappy in, that you should probably be grateful for? Maybe that gratefulness will cause Gods heart to move and bless you greater in that thing! Who knows? But its worth knowing where you are in yourself.

Hi Family, So on Friday I told you about a couple of things. My love for Disney movies (don't judge people!) and 7 sins per the world and then the 7 per The Word. So since the Lord brought me to the 7 sins per the world first, we are going to follow His lead. His way is best right? So after thinking about the seven dwarfs and the 7 deadly sins... Snow White and the 7...... sins...

Psalm 51:7 NLT Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean: wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Hi Family! If you know me, in my inner heart, you know that I'm a Disney fan. I had to take the day off work yesterday and I got caught up with the kids watching Disney movies. Starting, of course, with a new Disney movie because Lareina kept asking to watch it. It was Descendants 2. Now, let me be honest, I saw the first Descendants movie and I LOVED IT. LOL! So although I fought and fought not to watch this one for weeks, I still ended up watching it yesterday. I hadn't realized how much I would connect with the movie. Outside of the songs and the dancing and the good vs. evil plot of course. But the message was a really good message about being your own Authentic You. And how important it is to be your own authentic you ESPECIALLY for and around the people you love.
