GPS: Rerouting.....

Hey Family!!!

So let me tell you. I'm having the most hilarious type of drama at work. They are doing construction on my floor and I've been so excited about it because honestly the floor could use a face lift, and the new conference rooms they are doing are gonna look AWESOME. Then after they finish the conference rooms, they will work in our personal work area and we will get new desks which will be awesome. They will be nicer and ergonomic so the desks can raise if we need to stand for a while to do some work. It's gonna be awesome!!!

Ok, I know, how is that drama. The drama is the way that they are doing the construction has COMPLETELY changed the route I take from the elevator to my desk. I cannot take the route I normally take. The hallway is gone! There is what looks like a ginormous trash bag going from one section of the floor, to another section. My hallway is gone. So I have to walk all the way down the hall and around through another hall and around the corner in order to get to my desk. Yes, it takes a little longer to get to my desk. Yes it's uncomfortable because it's NOT what i'm used to. Yes, it's a change that I didn't expect to have to have as part of getting to my goal. Something as simple as getting to my desk. 

It's kind of like when you are driving on GPS and suddenly you hit construction zone that your gps didn't realize existed. You have to go around and find your own way. It's frustrating because you had the route planned, and not only did you have it planned, but your GPS had it! There was no doubt that you were going to get where you were getting at the time it stated... until something unplanned (unplanned to you) happened. When that happens, what does your GPS say?  REROUTING.....

Sometimes, things appear to be clear in your life and things are working the way that you thought you saw God had planned for you. At least what He showed you for a time of your life. Then the plan changed.... suddenly the route that you thought God had for you, changed. Suddenly you find your self in that "GPS Rerouting" status. We were reminded in Church the other day, that God will give you the A, B, C of a plan. And He will also give you the X, Y and Z of it also. And we get stuck in the D-W. We dubbed that the time of "Doing" and "Waiting". We know the end result that God plans for us is a life of Peace, Joy, Success, Love and all the other blessings He promised. That's the X, Y and Z. But sometimes on that journey, the D-W, the route that we "thought" God had for us, changes.... Whether it's because of some construction that we didn't expect began to occur, like being transformed (Romans 12:2). Or maybe it's the deconstruction that began to occur, like the shedding of old ways so that you can grow in a new light and new knowledge and new love (Matthew 9:16-17).

Where in your life have you ended up in that "GPS Rerouting" status? School? Career? Family? Where are you stuck at that construction zone, trying to figure out what direction to go? It's the beginning of the year. Still a great time to rebuild what needs to be rebuilt. Still a great time to grow.
