The Power of "I Forgive You"

Genesis 50:15-21 But now that their father was dead, Joseph’s brothers became fearful. “Now Joseph will show his anger and pay us back for all the wrong we did to him,” they said. So they sent this message to Joseph: “Before your father died, he instructed us to say to you: ‘Please forgive your brothers for the great wrong they did to you—for their sin in treating you so cruelly.’ So we, the servants of the God of your father, beg you to forgive our sin.” When Joseph received the message, he broke down and wept. Then his brothers came and threw themselves down before Joseph. “Look, we are your slaves!” they said. But Joseph replied, “Don’t be afraid of me. Am I God, that I can punish you? You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people. No, don’t be afraid. I will continue to take care of you and your children.” So he reassured them by speaking kindly to them. Good morning everyone! Toda...

The Blame Game

1 Samuel 30:1-6 NLT  Three days later, when David and his men arrived home at their town of Ziklag, they found that the Amalekites had made a raid into the Negev and Ziklag; they had crushed Ziklag and burned it to the ground. They had carried off the women and children and everyone else but without killing anyone. When David and his men saw the ruins and realized what had happened to their families, they wept until they could weep no more. David’s two wives, Ahinoam from Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal from Carmel, were among those captured. David was now in great danger because all his men were very bitter about losing their sons and daughters, and they began to talk of stoning him. But David found strength in the lord his God. Today I thought about this story and remembered that sometimes bad things happen. And sometimes they happen when you think you are doing something good. In the case above, David and his soldiers were out doing the work of the Lord. When ...

The Beautiful Teacup

Hi everyone, I heard a story today on Joel Osteen radio and it really did something to my spirit. I had to find the story and tell it here. I hope you get as blessed by it as I did. There was a couple who used to go to England to shop in the beautiful stores. They both liked antiques and pottery and especially teacups. This was their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. One day in this beautiful shop they saw a beautiful teacup. They said, "May we see that? We've never seen one quite so beautiful." As the lady handed it to them, suddenly the teacup spoke. "You don't understand," it said. "I haven't always been a teacup. There was a time when I was red and I was clay. My master took me and rolled me and patted me over and over and I yelled out, 'Let me alone', but he only smiled, 'Not yet.'" "Then I was placed on a spinning wheel," the teacup said, "and suddenly I was spun around and around and around. 'S...

What you thinking about?

Genesis 6:5-7 NLT The lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. So the lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart. And the lord said, “I will wipe this human race I have created from the face of the earth. Yes, and I will destroy every living thing—all the people, the large animals, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and even the birds of the sky. I am sorry I ever made them.” Wow, this verse breaks my heart every time I read it. Just now, literally just now, my 12 year old had that look on her face where you can tell she was HOT with her daddy. He immediately said "Say it! Say it! Cause I know what you thinking!" That's just with parental knowledge. Can you imagine, God knows our very thoughts even when we don't show it on our face. I'm ashamed of myself just the thoughts that have come to my mind at times...

Graduation Season

2 Chronicles 22:1-6 MSG The people of Jerusalem made Ahaziah, Jehoram’s youngest son, king. Raiders from the desert, who had come with the Arabs against the settlement, had killed all the older sons. That’s how Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah became king. Ahaziah was twenty-two years old when he became king, but reigned only one year in Jerusalem. His mother was Athaliah, granddaughter of Omri. He lived and ruled just like the Ahab family had done, his mother training him in evil ways. God also considered him evil, related by both marriage and sin to the Ahab clan. After the death of his father, he attended the sin school of Ahab, and graduated with a degree in doom. He did what they taught him, went with Joram son of Ahab king of Israel in the war against Hazael king of Aram at Ramoth Gilead. Joram, wounded by the Arameans, retreated to Jezreel to recover from the wounds he received in Ramah in his war with Hazael king of Aram. Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah paid...

Humility... A Journey In Its Own.

Image
Hi everyone! Something that has been on my heart this morning is something that has at times been such a challenge to me. Something that at times i was so confused about how to walk it out. Especially coming from the mentality of "I Got This". And "I don't need you." And my own personal dangerous mix of vanity and low self esteem. Now instead of me giving you another testimony or story about where I learned a little humility, I'll allow this quote say it. I thought it was pretty clear. Enjoy your day, be blessed, I love you all!
